Friends or Foe

Kia Ora. This blog is gonna be about friends or foe. It's about bugs or insects that are friendly or bad towards the nature and the environment.

I did this DLO with 2 other people, which is Ezra and Manuk.

The post is gonna tell you about different types of insects and what they do in order to help us with the nature. Some help with the fruits, tree, leaves, flowers, roots, etc.

Koru and Kowhaiwhai

 Ki ora, It's me Mark. I will be telling you what Korus and Kowhaiwhais are used for.

First of all, if you draw a Koru, or see a Koru on paintings or in plants, It's a sign of peace, new life, and renewal. It's a very popular symbol, that's used in a lot of Maori Art. Korus are important to New Zealand, because of its beauty and meaning.

On the other hand, Kowhaiwhais are used a lot in Maori Art as well. It is always coloured with the traditional colors (white, red, and black). It's sometimes made together with Korus.

Pirates Land and Sea Jobs Venn Diagram

Ahoy there matey!!, It's me Captain Merk.

Today I will show you the jobs on land and sea by pirates.

For Topic we have always been learning about Pirates and we had to make a Venn Diagram about different pirate jobs on land and sea.

I found it easy to design my Venn Diagram.

I found it hard to find the difference if the job is either on land or sea or both.

One job I wanna be is a captain. Because I can at least boss people around for once in my life.

Pirates Timeline

Gday Gday, there ol' mate. Me name is Captain Merk. Today me will be showin you what me and me mateys been working on for topic.

We been learning about Pirates, not just for Topic but for every single subject (Except maths). And for Topic, we have to make a timeline about famous pirates.

I made a timeline about, Major Stede Bonnett (Gentleman Pirate), Anne Bonny, Edward Low, Sir Henry Morgan, Francois l'Olonnais, John Rackham (Calico Jack), Mary Read, Bartholomew Roberts (Black Bart), and Edward Teach (Blackbeard).

Cipher Wheels

Ahoy Matey!! It's me Captain Mark.

Today I will show you what we've been making and doing for 3 days. We've been making Cipher Wheels. Allow me to explain.

Cipher Wheels are something people used to have or make in order for them to understand or solve a message that was given to them, because the message they got were gibberish but it has a meaning to it if you figure out how to understand it.

Basically it's like sending a message to someone, but they don't want others to know about it. So they decide to make a message that looks gibberish but actually isn't.

For our lesson we decided to make messages using Cipher Wheels so that they could find the Crunchie we hid somewhere around the school. And we needed to make clues or just one message in order for them to find out where we hid it.

Bouncing Bubbles

Hey There.

For Friday April 17th (Today) we only have one subject, which is topic. I was a bit late for online school but I managed to do it in time ( or not I guess).

We had to watch a 15 minute video of 3 people in a lab doing some experiments about "Physical Change and Chemical Change".

After we watch the video we need to do an experiment and I decided to do "Bouncing Bubbles".
